Linktree vs Stan Store
A feature-by-feature comparison based on our hands-on evaluation. 26 features differ between these tools.
Data verified
Which is better for creators, Linktree or Stan Store?
Linktree is a link page that can sell; Stan Store is a store that happens to be your link. Linktree costs nothing to start but takes 12% of every sale on the free plan, 9% on Starter and Pro, and 0% only on Premium at $35/mo. Stan takes 0% on both plans and has no free tier, so $29/mo runs from day one. Counting subscription and fees together, Linktree Free is the cheaper total until you sell about $242 a month and Linktree Pro until about $156. Past that, Stan is cheaper and stays cheaper. Neither offers a custom domain on any plan, so if that is your requirement, this comparison has no winner.

Pricing
Linktree
Stan Store
Run the fee maths with both sides counted, because the usual version doesn't
Most comparisons of these two put Linktree's percentage next to Stan's subscription and stop. That understates Linktree by the price of the plan you're on.
Done properly at $500 a month in digital product sales: Linktree Free costs $60 (all fee), Starter costs $53 ($8 plus $45), Pro costs $60 ($15 plus $45), Premium costs $35 flat, and Stan Store Creator costs $29 flat. Stan is cheapest at that volume, but Linktree Premium is closer than the headline 12%-versus-0% framing suggests.
The crossover points: Stan Creator beats Linktree Free above about $242 a month in sales, Linktree Starter above about $233, and Linktree Pro above about $156. Against Linktree Premium, Stan is $6/mo cheaper at any volume, which is a subscription argument, not a fee one. Below those thresholds Linktree's free plan genuinely is the cheaper way to sell.
Linktree stopped being a list of links a while ago, and it still has real gaps
The lazy version of this comparison casts Linktree as a link list and Stan as the serious tool. Linktree's free plan sells digital products and courses, embeds video and music, collects emails and phone numbers, includes a QR code and carries the deepest link-app library in the category: 35-plus integrations spanning Spotify, Calendly, Instagram Grid, Typeform and Amazon Affiliate. Pro at $15/mo adds Google Analytics, the Facebook Conversion API, global UTM parameters, SEO settings, email platform sync to Mailchimp, Kit, Klaviyo and Google Sheets, and AI-driven insights. Premium at $35/mo adds dynamic links with smart routing and CSV export.
Stan does not compete on any of that. Its only analytics escalation is pixel tracking for Meta, Google, Pinterest and TikTok, and that costs $99/mo.
The gaps on Linktree's side are just as real and should be said plainly: no custom domain on any plan, no custom CSS, no native email marketing at all, a 12% seller fee on the free tier that is the highest in the category, free analytics capped to a rolling 28-day window, and a running beta that shows interstitial ads to visitors on some free pages. Its design suite (advanced themes, advanced button and font styles, wallpaper images and video, hero and video profile images, header layouts) sits on Pro at $15/mo, not Starter.
What $29 buys at Stan that Linktree doesn't sell at any price
An unlimited course builder with course analytics. A booking and coaching calendar. Community spaces, webinars, memberships and recurring subscriptions. Private landing pages and lead magnets. One-tap checkout. All of that is on the $29 Creator plan, with 0% platform fees.
Linktree sells digital products and courses, but as products attached to a link page rather than as a commerce system. There is no booking calendar, no community, no webinars.
Stan's own escalation is steep, though. Discount codes, upsells and order bumps, funnels, buy-now-pay-later, affiliate management, email broadcasts and flows and pixel tracking are all Creator Pro at $99/mo. Funnels in particular are a current Creator Pro feature, not something you can add to the $29 plan.
Two claims about these tools that need footnotes
Stan's free plan. There isn't one. The Creator plan at $29/mo ($25 annual) with a 14-day trial is the entry point, and affiliate-only Stan accounts, which give resell links and commission cash-out but no storefront, are regularly mistaken for one.
Instagram DM automation. Stan includes AutoDM on both plans. Linktree's position is genuinely ambiguous: its pricing page marks Instagram auto-reply as Premium-only with unlimited sends, while its help centre documents monthly DM caps on every plan (1,000 on Free, 1,500 on Starter, 2,500 on Pro, unlimited on Premium), with the all-posts, next-post and keyword triggers gated to Pro and above. The best reading is that the feature exists across plans with volume caps and the pricing page row refers to uncapped sending. Treat any confident claim in either direction with suspicion.
Social media scheduling is a third. Linktree advertises it on the Premium plan card, but there is no row for it anywhere in Linktree's own ~98-row comparison table and no plan gate in the help centre, so the tier it belongs to is not something we can currently verify.
Who should choose what
Choose Linktree if
- The page is a hub first (content, socials, embeds) and a shop second
- You want to start free and sell occasionally rather than commit $29/mo before a first sale
- You need Google Analytics, UTM parameters, the Facebook Conversion API or SEO settings, all on Pro at $15/mo
- You want the widest link-app and integration library in the category
- You sell under roughly $242 a month, where the 12% free-plan fee still costs less than Stan's subscription
Choose Stan Store if
- Selling is the whole point and the link page is the shopfront
- You want an unlimited course builder, bookings, community, webinars and memberships in one $29 plan
- You sell above roughly $242 a month and want the fee line gone
- You want 0% fees without paying Linktree's $35 Premium tier to get them
- You can live with stan.store/yourusername forever and with email campaigns costing $99/mo
Frequently asked questions
How do Linktree and Stan Store transaction fees compare?
Stan Store charges 0% on both its plans. Linktree charges 12% on courses and digital products on the free plan, 9% on Starter ($8/mo) and Pro ($15/mo), and 0% on Premium ($35/mo). Linktree's 12% free-tier fee is now published on its pricing page and is the highest in the link-in-bio category. Standard payment processor fees apply on top for both tools.
At what sales volume does Stan Store become cheaper than Linktree?
Counting subscription and platform fee on both sides, Stan Store Creator at $29/mo with 0% fees becomes the cheaper total once monthly digital product sales pass roughly $242 against Linktree's free plan (12%), roughly $233 against Starter ($8/mo plus 9%) and roughly $156 against Pro ($15/mo plus 9%). Against Linktree Premium, which charges 0% for $35/mo, Stan is $6 a month cheaper at any volume.
Can you use a custom domain with Linktree or Stan Store?
Neither tool supports one. Linktree does not offer custom domains on any plan (the URL is always linktr.ee/yourname), and Stan Store's help centre states you cannot create or embed a custom domain, leaving you on stan.store/yourusername. Domain forwarding from a registrar is the only workaround on Stan's side. If a custom domain is essential, both of these are the wrong tools; Beacons includes one free from $10/mo and Campsite.bio from $7/mo.
Is Linktree only good for links?
No. Linktree's free plan sells digital products and courses at a 12% fee, embeds video and music, collects emails and phone numbers, and includes a QR code plus the widest link-app library in the category. Pro at $15/mo adds Google Analytics, the Facebook Conversion API, global UTM parameters, SEO settings, email platform sync and AI insights; Premium at $35/mo adds dynamic links with smart routing and CSV export. The real limits are elsewhere: no custom domain on any plan, no custom CSS, no native email marketing, and the design suite gated to Pro.
What does Stan Store's $29 plan include that Linktree does not offer?
An unlimited course builder with course analytics, a coaching and booking calendar, community spaces, webinars, memberships and recurring subscriptions, private landing pages and one-tap checkout, all with 0% platform fees. Linktree sells digital products and courses on every plan, but has no booking calendar, no community and no webinar tooling at any tier.
Do both tools automate Instagram DMs?
Stan Store includes AutoDM on both plans. Linktree's own sources disagree with each other: the pricing page marks Instagram auto-reply as Premium-only with unlimited sends, while the help centre documents monthly caps on every plan (1,000 on Free, 1,500 on Starter, 2,500 on Pro, unlimited on Premium), with all-posts, next-post and keyword triggers restricted to Pro and above. The likeliest reading is that the feature exists across plans with volume limits, and that the pricing-page row refers specifically to uncapped sending.
