The short answer
These two barely overlap. Later is a scheduling platform for eight social networks with a Link in Bio page attached; Stan Store is a storefront with a link page attached. The detail that changes the decision is that Later runs a free plan including a customizable Link in Bio page — documented in its help centre, absent from its pricing page — so the entry price for a Later bio link is $0, not $18.75/mo. Stan has no free plan at all and starts at $29/mo, but takes 0% on everything you sell. If your bottleneck is publishing, take Later; if it's checkout, take Stan; if it's both, Later's free tier plus Stan Creator costs $29 a month in total.

Pricing
Later
Stan Store
Later's free plan is real, and Later's own pricing page doesn't mention it
Later's public pricing page lists Starter, Growth and Scale plus a 14-day trial. Its help centre documents a Free plan as a first-class tier alongside them, and the Link in Bio product pages carry CTAs reading get your free link in bio. So the free plan exists; it just isn't advertised where buyers look.
What's confirmed on it: a customizable Link in Bio page, introductory analytics, limited post scheduling, one Access Group and a calendar window restricted to two weeks past and future. What isn't confirmed is which Link in Bio sub-features come with it — Later doesn't enumerate them, and its comparison table has no Free column. Don't assume the free page includes Google Analytics, email collection, branding removal or the Mavely affiliate connection; those are documented on paid plans only.
That distinction matters because it changes the honest answer to how much does Later's link in bio cost from $18.75 a month to zero, with an asterisk about what you get.
Neither one does the other's job, at all
Later processes no transactions. There is no store, no digital products, no checkout and therefore no seller fee — the Link in Bio is a traffic-routing surface. If you want to sell something, you are linking out to a tool that can.
Stan has no scheduling, no content calendar and no publishing workflow. It supports one surface: your storefront.
The overlap is a page with links on it. Later's version mirrors your Instagram grid so a follower can tap a post and reach up to five links behind it (one per TikTok post), and now covers Snapchat as well as Instagram and TikTok. Stan's version is eleven storefront templates arranged around a one-tap checkout. Both remove platform branding on paid plans. Neither offers a custom domain.
Stan's 0% fee is worth real money, but only against the right comparison
At $2,000 a month in digital product sales, counting subscription and platform fee on both sides: Stan Creator costs $29. Beacons' free plan costs $180 in fees. Linktree's free plan costs $240. Beacons Creator Plus costs $30 and Linktree Premium $35, both at 0%.
So the fee-free pitch is decisive against the free tiers of tools that charge a percentage, and roughly a wash against their paid 0% tiers. Later doesn't appear in that table at all, because it never touches the money.
Where Stan's pricing does bite is the second tier. Discount codes, upsells and order bumps, funnels, buy-now-pay-later, affiliate management, email broadcasts and flows and pixel tracking are Creator Pro at $99/mo. Later's escalation is different in kind: $50/mo Growth buys a social inbox, collaboration and approvals and a year of analytics; $110/mo Scale buys unlimited posts, competitive benchmarking and brand monitoring.
Constraints worth knowing before you commit to either
Later's Link in Bio on TikTok requires a TikTok Business account with at least 1,000 followers. That is an eligibility rule, not a plan gate, and it catches people out.
Later's analytics retention is inconsistent in a way that favours you: Link in Bio analytics run to a year on Starter even though platform analytics on the same plan stop at three months. Scale extends both to two years.
Later's monthly prices are 33% above the annual rates the pricing page shows by default — $25 rather than $18.75 on Starter — and the 14-day trial is unavailable to accounts that have previously trialled or paid. On Stan's side, the email ceiling is the thing to plan around: the $29 plan collects addresses through lead magnets but cannot send a campaign, and Google pixel tracking only arrives at $99/mo, where Later includes a Google Analytics connection on every paid plan.
Who should choose what
Choose Later if
- Publishing consistently across several platforms is the actual bottleneck, not checkout
- You want a bio link for nothing — the free plan includes a customizable Link in Bio page
- Your audience finds a post first and the link second, and grid-mirrored linked posts fit that behaviour
- You want a Google Analytics connection and SEO controls on your link page from the entry paid tier
- You schedule for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads or Snapchat and want one calendar for all of it
Choose Stan Store if
- You already have the audience and the missing piece is a checkout
- You sell courses, coaching slots, community access, webinars or memberships and want them in one $29 plan
- You want 0% platform fees rather than a percentage that scales with your success
- Instagram AutoDM is part of how you convert — Later has a social inbox for replying by hand, not automation
- You accept stan.store/yourusername permanently and don't need $99/mo email campaigns
Frequently asked questions
Does Later have a free plan?
Yes, though its pricing page doesn't show one. Later's help centre documents a Free plan alongside Starter, Growth and Scale, including a customizable Link in Bio page, introductory analytics, limited post scheduling, one Access Group and a calendar restricted to two weeks past and future. Later's Link in Bio marketing pages also advertise a free link in bio directly. Which Link in Bio sub-features the free tier includes is not enumerated anywhere, so treat features like Google Analytics, email collection and branding removal as paid-plan capabilities until confirmed in-app.
Can you sell digital products through Later?
No. Later operates no storefront and processes no transactions, so there are no digital products, no checkout and no seller fees — the Link in Bio page routes traffic and collects emails on paid plans, nothing more. Affiliate links are supported through a Mavely account connection on paid plans. To sell, you link out to a tool that handles commerce, which is exactly the gap Stan Store fills at $29/mo with 0% platform fees.
What does it cost to run Later and Stan Store together?
As little as $29 a month: Later's free plan gives you a customizable Link in Bio page at $0, and Stan Store Creator is $29/mo. If you need Later's actual scheduling suite, Starter plus Stan Creator is $54/mo on monthly billing or $43.75/mo billed annually ($525 a year). The two tools don't duplicate each other — Later handles publishing, Stan handles checkout — so running both isn't redundant spending.
Can either Later or Stan Store use a custom domain?
No. Stan Store's help centre states you cannot create or embed a custom domain; the URL is always stan.store/yourusername, and forwarding from a registrar is the only workaround. Later's pricing table contains no custom domain row anywhere — it offers a customizable Link in Bio URL rather than your own domain. If a branded domain matters, look at Beacons, which includes one free from $10/mo, or Campsite.bio at $7/mo.
Which Link in Bio features does Later include on paid plans?
Every Link in Bio row in Later's pricing table is included on Starter, Growth and Scale alike: unlimited buttons, linked posts (up to five links per Instagram post, one per TikTok post), featured media, featured banner, multi-item banner, Mavely affiliate links, a Mailchimp connection, email collection, no Later branding, customization, Google Analytics, SEO customization and social links. Link in Bio analytics run to one year on Starter and Growth and two years on Scale.
Does Later's Link in Bio work on TikTok?
Yes, and on Instagram and Snapchat, but TikTok has an eligibility requirement: a TikTok Business account with at least 1,000 followers. Linked posts allow up to five links per Instagram post and one per TikTok post. Snapchat support is a recent addition — earlier documentation covered Instagram and TikTok only.
